What is the LinkedIn Pinpoint Game?

LinkedIn Pinpoint is a daily word association puzzle where players must identify a common category that connects a set of five mystery clues. It's a test of lateral thinking and vocabulary, similar to popular games like Wordle and Connections, but with a unique focus on revealing clues one by one.

In every game, you start with one clue and can reveal more if you're stuck. Your goal is to guess the connecting category in as few clues as possible. The fewer clues you use, the better your score!

How to Play LinkedIn Pinpoint: Rules & Gameplay

Objective of the Game

Find the single word or short phrase that links all five clues provided in the puzzle.

Game Gameplay Mechanics

  • The Clues: You are presented with a grid of 5 hidden clues.
  • Revealing Clues: Click on a hidden tile to reveal a clue. Each reveal adds to your "cost" for that puzzle.
  • Making Guesses: Type your guess into the box. You have limited attempts to get the correct category.
  • The Answer: The answer is always a common noun, group, or theme that all revealed words share.

Pinpoint Game Strategy & Tips

  • Don't Rush Guesses: If you're not 90% sure after the first clue, reveal the second. A wrong guess is often more costly than an extra clue.
  • Think Broadly: Clues can be synonyms, examples of a category, or parts of a compound word.
  • Look for Patterns: Sometimes the clues are all related to a specific industry, hobby, or pop culture theme.
